Comet C/2012 K5 (LINEAR)
![]() |
This image shows the comet C/2012 K5 (LINEAR) on the evening of December 30th 2012. It is a composite of 5 RGB sets of 1 min. exposition each for the stars and 5 LRGB sets tracked on the comet (see the bottom image) using the comet tracking capability of my DDM 85 mount. The processing was tricky due to the very fast comet’s motion (about 10 arcsec per minute). Other images of C/2012 K5 can be found here. |

Stack of 5 LRGB sets of 2 min. exposition time. For this image I used for the first time the comet tracking capability of my DDM 85 mount. The stars were artificially suppressed in order to show better the comet. This images were acquired remotely from the remote controlled IRIDA Observatory . |
