Comet C/2012 K5 (LINEAR)
![]() |
This image shows the comet C/2012 K5 (LINEAR) on the evening of January 2nd 2013 and is a composite of 3 LRGB sets of 2 min exposition each. The processing was tricky due to the very fast comet’s motion (about 10 arcsec per minute). This motion can be seen in the bottom image. Other images of C/2012 K5 can be found here. |

This is a 3 x 2 min. stack in RGB, stacked on the stars. Thus it shows the proper motion of the comet in about 20 minutes (including the camera downloading time) |

And finaly, another stack, this time on the comet. For this image I used the comet tracking capability of my DDM 85 mount. The result is quite satisfactory considering this is only one 2 min. LRGB set. This images were acquired remotely from the remote controlled IRIDA Observatory . |
